Course Objectives: Gain a foundational understanding of how to build basic websites.
Course Description: This course will take place in an interactive computer lab environment. The primary focus will be on learning the HTML language. Each lesson will include instruction, practice and application. By the end of the course, students will have the tools they need to build basic websites and understand how HTML fits into modern web development.
Required Test or Other Supplies: General familiarity with computers and internet browsers. USB Flash Drive on which to store website files. Website Hosting Account (Optional)

  • 1/4 Using Plain Text Editors, Elements, Attributes, Headings and Paragraphs
  • 1/11 Formatting, Styles, and Links. Getting your site on the web with FTP.
  • 1/18 Images, Tables, Lists, Forms, and Iframes
  • 1/25 Colors, Layout, Hosting and Web Server Tools
  • 2/1 Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Converting Designs to HTML.
  • 2/8 Modern Web Development: Content Management Systems, Blogs, E-Commerce and Careers
